ATL Soul Music Fest was a wonderful way for Atlanta to kick off the Memorial day weekend! Wolf Creek Amphitheater was the host venue. The sold out crowd was treated to performances by some of Soul music’s finest. Comedian/Host Griff (2Trillion) kicked the festival off by keeping everyone laughing by reminding us of things we did, said and wore during the 80’s! DJ Daddy Drew provided the soundtrack for the evening.
Conya Doss got the audience warmed up with a forty minute set of soulful tunes. Up next was Dwele. The Detroit native’s set smooth and mellow. He went out into the crowd during his set and danced with several ladies. Avery Sunshine graced the stage next. She began by playing the keyboard to accompany her velvety soulful vocals. She was a crowd favorite for sure. Kindred The Family Soul shared some Philly Soul with the crowd. Their songs show us all what love is all about. The couple have been married well over a decade and shared that they have six children. There were a few technical glitches during their set…but like true professionals they took it is stride and worked through it.
Grammy award winner Chrisette Michelle was the headliner for the evening and she didn’t disappoint. The crowd erupted into applause as Chrisette took the stage. Her set was well worth the wait. The crowd sang and danced during her entire set. Chrisette performed everyone’s favorite tunes.
The ATL Soul Life Music Fest was presented by McDonalds and the Affordable Old School team. Job well done!!
